![]() ![]() But if you're a creative producer serious about producing industry-standard content, Photoshop CS6 is a strong, competitive tool. We've barely scratched the surface of everything CS6 offers, including video support and auto-save functionality like its suite cousin, Adobe Premiere. In addition, Photoshop CS6 also has a dummy "lorem ipsum" body text built into the app so designers can quickly paste sample paragraphs. You can also generate custom-size shapes by inputting numerical pixel values to add more precise mock-up elements. Creative Suite 6 now accepts the standard 3-6 character HEX codes in their color selectors, which is key for designers who want to call out specific Web colors. Photoshop also brings improved precision to setting colors and custom dimensions for shapes. You can define the layer style for various folders, potentially opening the door to even more complex effects and filter combinations. Another major change is the ability to apply layer styles to groups. You can search by layer name, type, attribute, and color. Photoshop CS6 finally empowers users with the ability to search within their layers, a crucial benefit for those who work on projects with many elements and layer groups like UI and Web designers. There are seriously way too many new features for us to cover in such a short overview: instead, we'll briefly look at some of the more notable improvements. Tools are more streamlined thanks to Adobe's continuing move towards collapsible menus, while leaving the primary tools visible. Of course, if you're itching for a brighter look, CS6 gives users lighter-colored interfaces, reminiscent of previous versions. Then choose Get More Brushes from the menu: To get more brushes, choose 'Get More Brushes'. Photoshop CS6 brings a darker, more focused default work environment, with menus and toolbars painted in dark grays and blacks. To access the more than 1000 additional brushes available to Adobe Creative Cloud subscribers, click the menu icon in the upper right corner of the Brushes panel: Opening the Brushes panel menu. Let's start with the interface: dark is good. ![]() That isn't a customer-focused approach.Adobe Photoshop CS6 only strengthens the benchmark software's existing position as the unrivaled production suite and an indispensable tool for old and new generation creative minds: graphic designers, web developers, video editors, you name it. My beef is that, from my perspective, they have arbitrarily and intentionally disabled my working software without any notice or announcement and when I asked them where the notification was, the response was to offer to cancel my subscription. I understand dropping support for older versions and OS's. The issue is with them refusing to authorize a license for an older version of their product. I'm pretty confident (although I can't test it), that if I installed the exact same version of Lightroom on a Windows 10 PC, I'd have the same issue. It has to do with Adobe's license server refusing to authorize a subscription for an older version of software. I don't think any part of the problem the OP and I are experiencing has anything to do with Windows 8. The part where the issue is with their license server and they referred me to this community forum for support for a problem with their license server refusing to authorize my existing previously working software. For what reason? Why not let us users keep using an older version if we so choose? The way I percieve this is that Adobe now finally dropped Win8 completely, and does this by simply not allowing users to activate the license. I want to know how I can get a working license for the software that is installed on my PC, that runs perfectly (if I choose to "start a 7-day trial"), and that I pay a monthly subscription fee for. (Obviously not going to do that.) They then directed me here, to try and sort things out. Their only "solution" was to update to Win 11 and use the latest version of PS. After a long chat with customer support, it appears my version was discontinued. Now to the problem: Today when I opened PS, it stated I did not have a valid license. (I sometimes use a laptop with the latest version, so I can compare.) There are even features removed (like the 3D filters, that would let you create bump- and normal maps for 3D models)! And that is perfectly fine! Not one of the newer features that has been added to PS over the past years has been useful to me. I have been using it as my main Photoshop station, with all the tools and displays needed to make the most of my images.īecause Adobe chose to drop support for Win8, I'm "stuck" on PS version CC 2018 (or 19.1.7 to be precise). It's an older PC, but it works perfectly.
